The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health held a Research Day on the 7th of September 2018 at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital. Researchers were invited to present on topics related to improving the performance of the health system and the health of the people in KZN. Two researchers from MRU had oral presentations accepted for this event. Mrs Phumla Nkosi presented on “Introducing menstrual cups to adolescent girls and young women in further education institutions and out of school community groups in KwaZulu-Natal” and Dr Ivana Beesham presented on “Reasons for requesting removal of hormonal contraceptive Implanon implants at an urban public sector reproductive health clinic in KwaZulu-Natal”.
