About the conference

UAFC together with 3 international partners will be hosting the 3rd Global Female Condom Conference 2015 with this years slogan ‘Initiate, Innovate, Integrate’. The conference will take place in Durban, South Africa. We are very happy that PSI, CHANGE and MatCH Research, all well-known partners in the field of female condom programming, advocacy and research, gracefully accepted our invitation to be co-organizers for this conference.

About the organizing partners

Universal Access to Female Condoms Joint Programme (UAFC)

To make female condoms available, accessible and affordable for all, UAFC started off with an ambitious programme. UAFC has three overall programme objectives: increased availability and affordability of a variety of quality female condoms, increased demand and sustained use of female condoms, and increased financial and political international and national support.
UAFC is a partnership between four Dutch organisations: Oxfam Novib, Rutgers, i+solutions and the Netherlands’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs. All partners work closely and intensively together towards achieving the three overall programme objectives.

MatCH Research

MatCH Research aims to answer essential questions that will translate into improving sexual and reproductive health outcomes through expanding access to appropriate and acceptable contraception, HIV prevention and related health technologies and services. Using a range of methodologies, we conduct behavioural, operations and clinical research, actively partnering and involving communities and local structures. We also provide technical assistance, partnering with various stakeholders, including the South African Department of Health and other NGOs to effect policy change and enhance best practice.

MatCH Research was established in 2013 as a Division of the Wits Health Consortium (Pty) Ltd in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of the Witwatersrand. MatCH Research is based in Durban and was formerly the Durban office of the RHRU (Reproductive Health and HIV Research Unit) now WRHI (Wits Reproductive Health and HIV Institute).

Population Services International (PSI)

PSI is a global non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the health of people in the developing world by focusing on serious challenges like a lack of family planning, HIV and AIDS, barriers to maternal health, and the greatest threats to children under five, including malaria, diarrhoea, pneumonia and malnutrition.
Our mission is to tackle the most pressing health problems by marketing the most affordable products and services and the consistent behaviours that go with them, so that people can lead healthier, happier, more productive lives.
Our 65 country offices around the world help enhance health systems in the private and public sector with proven business practices like marketing and franchising. PSI estimates its effect on disease burden much like a company measures profit. Our bottom line is added years of healthy life for the most vulnerable.
