Abstract information and submission form

Submissions are now closed.

The Global Female Condom Conference 2015 independent abstract committee welcomes submission of a limited number of abstracts for original contribution to the field in the following tracks:

  • Track 1: Technical Developments & Science  on increasing availability
    e.g. market developments, scientific research, supply chain management, new condom models.
  • Track 2: Programming, Evaluation & Implementation on increasing demand

    e.g. behaviour change, successful marketing techniques, working with the private sector.

  • Track 3: Advocacy, Campaigning & Communication on increasing supportVarious: films/songs/debates/skills building around one of the above tracks.

The Conference organizers invite abstracts on original, inspirational and/or high-impact advocacy or campaign initiatives for female condoms at local, national or global level. The initiative either addresses female condoms specifically or as part of a broader SRHR, FP or HIV/AIDS initiative. Of particular interest are abstracts on the combination of advocacy and campaigning and those addressing female condom for MSM or young people.

Criteria for selection by the independent abstract commission
  • originality
  • quality of the abstract
  • relevance for the audience
  • not previously presented (specifically for research)

Abstracts should disclose primary findings and should avoid promissory statements such as ‘experiments are in progress’ or ‘results will be discussed’.

Abstracts must be submitted in English.

Abstract Review  and selection process

All submitted abstracts will go through a blind peer-review process carried out by an international reviewing committee. The  Programme Committee makes the final selection of abstracts to be included in the conference programme. Abstracts can be selected for oral presentation in oral abstract sessions or to be presented as a poster.

Notification of Acceptance or Rejection to Corresponding Author 

Notification of acceptance or rejection will be sent to the submitting (corresponding) author latest by October 5th 2015. Please note that only the corresponding author will receive mail concerning the abstract and is responsible for informing all co-authors of the status of the abstract. Authors whose abstracts have been accepted will receive instructions for the presentation of their abstract.

Scholarships

A very limited number of scholarships will be available to help finance the participation of some of those who present papers but  acceptance of an abstract is not any guarantee that the author will receive a full or partial scholarship.
