It was with great anticipation and excitement that the MRU site kicked-off screening and recruitment for the IMPOWER-022 double-blinded randomised clinical trial in mid-September 2021. The trial will investigate the effectiveness and safety of a new oral monthly pre-exposure prophylaxis pill (PrEP), that will offer women the opportunity to protect themselves against HIV-1 infection. The MRU recruitment team is hard at work to get information out about the study and ramp up recruitment from our local clinics and surrounding community areas.
