The UPTAKE Project is a multi-country research study which aims to increase met needs for family planning/contraception through community and health care provider participation. This project is an international collaboration between the World Health Organization (WHO) and three leading research institutions in the eastern and southern African region of Africa (Zambia, Kenya and South Africa). This project was launched by the WHO at the research sites at the end of July 2015. Representatives of the WHO – Petrus Steyn and Joanna Cordero – attended the site initiation visit at MatCH Research offices in Westville on 27 and 28 July.
