Date: 28 -29 May 2018

Venue: Sandton, Johannesburg

MRU had the pleasure of being invited to a Menstrual Health Management Symposium which was held in Johannesburg Sandton from 28- 29 May 2018. The purpose of the symposium was to strengthen commitment and build on the latest evidence base, to move from research to action, and to demonstrate innovative, sustainable and scalable models to address the menstrual health management needs of adolescent girls and women throughout their menstrual life cycle in East and Southern Africa.

The symposium was also a potential avenue for networking with sister organizations and establishing alliances to strengthen advocacy efforts towards advancing menstrual health management and leaving no one behind. MRU was one of the exhibitors at the symposium and had an opportunity to showcase material used for their DREAMS IC Menstrual Cup Project, a project which provides Adolescent Girls and Young Women aged 18-24 with a quality menstrual management product – the menstrual cup (MCup), which provides effective protection for a menstrual cycle.
